Annual Meeting Goes Virtual

Due to concerns for our community and the health of our members, the MidSouth Electric Co-op Annual Meeting originally scheduled for June 19 has been rescheduled as a virtual event on July 20.

For the first time in MidSouth Electric Co-op history members will not meet in person for the organization’s annual meeting. Instead, the event will take place online on July 20, 2020. Members will be able to stream the event at www.midsouthelectric.com.

In the July issue of Texas Co-op Power, members will find mail-in ballots. These ballots will need to be filled out, sealed in the pre-paid mailing envelope and mailed by July 10 to be counted. As a member, we highly encourage you to participate in voting procedures. The representatives you elect help set policies and make decisions that affect the quality of life and economic health of the MidSouth Electric Co-op service area. Submitting your ballot also qualifies you to win one of ten $500 bill credits.

The Board of Directors made the decision to host a virtual annual meeting carefully. As a community-focused cooperative, we must continue to protect our membership from the spread of COVID-19. We believe this decision will not only keep our members safe but will also encourage members who might not otherwise attend to experience the annual meeting.

Details for this year’s 80th Annual Meeting are still being finalized. Updates and announcements will be made on our social media accounts and website. We appreciate your patience and cooperation.
