Message to Members About Their Next Bill

Navasota, TX – April 6, 2021

MidSouth will be resuming disconnections for non-payment and past due fees on May 3, 2021. There are several steps our members can take now in preparation for that time. Members affected by winter storm Uri have the option to request an extension or set up a deferred-payment contract on an outstanding balance. These deferred installments will be in addition to future bills. If you have any questions, please contact a member service representative at 936-825-5100.

Navasota, TX – February 23, 2021

We know that many of our MidSouth members are concerned about the potential impact to your February monthly bills due to the unprecedented arctic weather event. MidSouth is actively working through the details and members can expect no increase to electric rates or the Wholesale Power Cost Adjustment (WPCA) for electricity use in their next bill for the month of February.  What is certain is that usage appears to be similar to that of summer months because of the need for heat. MidSouth will continue to offer routine payment arrangements to residential members that may need assistance based on the increased usage for this period. We are also suspending late fees, as well as disconnects, until further notice. Please reach out to our local member service team for assistance if needed.

There is a lot of information being presented to the public by political officials, government agencies and news stories about the arctic weather event. The fundamental fact is that the situation caused by the arctic weather will be ongoing in the months to come and will require continued attention. MidSouth will not waiver in our desire to pursue the best interest of the members we serve.

As more information becomes available and details are determined, we will communicate directly to our members through our website, email, and social media. Members are strongly encouraged to reference the company website or Facebook page for fact-based information that is relevant. Preemptive and misinformation being spread from many other sources will not be beneficial to understanding the full impact caused by the arctic weather. We appreciate your support and encouragement while we engage this effort.
